Cheryl Lambert Biography 12/9/2021

I moved to Folsom from Monterey County in 2019 after my husband and I retired.  I love the local community, Northern California, mountains, and coast.  We are avid campers and love to be outside in nature. Dave and I are originally from Michigan, have two grown children, Mitchell, and Eva, and have been married for 45 years and counting.

I retired from the USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) after 15 years of service in 2017. I served with the NRCS in California, Arizona, and the Pacific Island Area, where I lived on Oahu for three years. I held positions as NRCS Arizona, State Environmental Coordinator, PIA East Area Agronomist, Yuma District Conservationist and Elkhorn Slough Watershed Project Manager. Previously, I worked for U.C. Davis as an agricultural researcher in the Crop and Weed Science Depts; the vegetable and flower seed industry as a greenhouse manager, trial grower and farm manager; and as a self-employed landscape gardener and designer. I am a Horticulturist and Agriculturist with 40+ years of experience. I have also worked in banks, accounting, and other businesses during my career.

During my stay in Hawaii, I graduated from the Honolulu Federal Executive Board’s, Pacific Region, Senior Leadership Academy in Honolulu.  I hold a Master of Business Administration in Management from National University (2004), and I am the Immediate Past President of NU’s Northern CA Alumni Association, Board of Directors. I graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Sustainable Agriculture (2008) and hold a Bachelor of Business Administration from Golden Gate University (1999).  I participated in the California Women for Agriculture since the 1990s, and I will be CWA’s Northern CA District Director starting in 2022 and the Natural Resources Director.

My father, Lloyd A. Aldrich, served with honor as a Staff Sergeant in the US Marine Corp. during WWII stationed in San Diego and with the Pacific Command.  I thrive on learning and using my knowledge, skills, and abilities to make the world a better place, and serve those who make it possible for me to be a free citizen of the greatest country in the world, the USA. My passion for natural resources, horticulture and agriculture let me "Help the People, Help the Land.”
